About the role:

• As it continues its journey of expansion into financial services, Nu Mexico faces growing regulatory requirements. Among them, many are related to AML (Anti-Money Laundering). An important part of our strategy is to be very efficient at that through technology.

• This role plays a critical part in safeguarding Nu Mexico’s financial ecosystem against money laundering and terrorism financing, contributing to robust compliance through analytics, supporting the identification and mitigation of emerging financial crime risk through a forward-looking, data-driven AML approach aligned with the broader compliance strategy.

You’ll be Responsible for

• As a highly specialized member of the team, execute the most complex parts of AML Analytics processes required by the Mexican banking regulation

• Plan and deploy AML monitoring scenarios, building an efficient alert engine, as well as maintaining/improving it

• Apply our machine learning models to systems and pipelines (alert generation, risk policies, etc.)

• Design and implement policies/models for customer risk rating

• Present and explain AML Analytics matters before the 1LOD (First Line of Defense), local leadership, regulators, auditors

• Collaborate with the global AML teams at applying standards and best practices to MX

• Follow-up AML-related Analytics and Tech projects that are executed by other teams

• Be the local responsible for planning, project management in the area

• Build and maintain indicators/metrics for measuring transaction monitoring, risk distribution, KYC, etc.

What We're Looking For Someone Who Has

Required

• Data, framework, data warehousing, ETL contributor/developer, big data

• Programming

  1. Paradigms and their best practices: Object Oriented, Functional

  2. Development of general-purpose tooling/automation

• Interacting with production systems through APIs

• Technology: scaling and productivity

• AML, fraud, “MSAC”

• Experience with regulation/Compliance/Legal

• Planning & Project management, roadmaps, work planning methodologies

• Analytics applications:

  1. Problem-solving and decision making, in general

  2. Models, practical application or theory
