Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Worldwide Public Sector FP&A team. This role will have oversight of the P&L and will be responsible for developing KPIs and standard measurements to ensure we are providing the right financial insights to our leadership teams. This is a high-impact position that will have a front-row seat to the decisions being made by both AWS Business and Finance leadership. Responsibilities will include: (1) working autonomously on high-priority projects that will influence how we manage, track, and communicate profitability; (2) partnering across the AWS organization to ensure we are driving a positive ROI for both our Core and GenAI businesses; (3) building mechanisms and reporting to be used across the business for financial insights; and (4) driving reporting requirements to streamline both our planning and month-end close processes.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned FP&A analyst who thrives in a leadership role, is decisive, action-oriented, and able to motivate and lead cross-functional teams. The right candidate has experience in consolidating disparate data sources into usable datasets and driving improvements to ensure that reporting can be done at scale. In addition, this person must have strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate leadership strategies into actionable plans.


Key job responsibilities
Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities.

Program manage how information is shared and communicated throughout the financial planning and MEC processes.

Streamline processes and lead improvement projects.

Develop the right metrics to measure effective cost structures and ROI.

Play a leading in role in shaping our how we appropriately manage and track different revenue streams.

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Preferred qualifications

- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
