Job Description

The Role

QuEra Computing seeks to hire a Government Contracts Compliance Manager to manage and influence compliance and reporting endeavors as we continue to deepen our relationships and partners ships with various US government agencies and entities (e.g., DARPA, DOE, DoD, among others). This is a critical, highly cross-functional role who holds an intimate understanding the nuances of scaling and enhancing highly-efficient compliance and reporting practices and requirements.

In this role, you will serve as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert on federal contracting regulations, ensuring our proposals, operational workflows, and technologies meet strict Department of Defense standards. You will proactively identify risks, streamline audit readiness, and partner with cross-functional teams to secure and protect our government portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

 Regulatory Oversight & Compliance

  • Interpret and ensure strict adherence to FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), and agency-specific supplements.
  • Maintain oversight of national security and export control frameworks, including ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
  • Ensure company systems and policies comply with federal cybersecurity standards for safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), specifically NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification).

Proposal & Contract Support

  • Review and analyze RFPs, RFIs, and solicitations to identify compliance risks and unique agency requirements during the pre-award phase.
  • Partner with Capture Managers, Program Managers, and Engineering teams to build fully compliant, competitive proposals for DARPA grants and contracts.
  • Monitor post-award contract deliverables, milestones, and reporting timelines to ensure flawless execution.

 Risk Management & Audit Readiness

  • Schedule, execute, and document periodic internal audits across departments to catch compliance gaps before external reviews.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for government audit agencies, including the DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) and DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency).
  • Lead investigations into potential compliance anomalies, formulate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and oversee their resolution.

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Public Policy, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5–8+ years of direct experience managing government contract compliance, ideally within or adjacent to the defense, aerospace, or advanced technology sectors.
  • Expertise: Deep, demonstrable knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DARPA procurement processes, and DCAA compliance guidelines.
  • Soft Skills: Outstanding communication skills to translate complex regulations into clear, universal language for scientific, engineering and G&A colleagues.

The salary for this role is $165,000-$175,000 annually.
