Job Description

The IT Project Manager (PMO) at Japan OTS FD will support the planning and coordination of IT infrastructure operations for Amazon JP, with a focus on establishing and running the team's business and operational cadence. The role centers on preparing and facilitating Weekly Operational Reviews (WOR), Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and on driving deep-dive analysis of the team's key metrics to surface trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. The IT Project Manager owns the reporting rhythm, standardizes metric definitions and dashboards, and ensures data quality and consistency across reviews.

In addition, the role manages Keep-The-Lights-On (KTLO) projects — the ongoing, run-the-business initiatives that sustain IT infrastructure health, including hardware lifecycle refreshes, sustaining deployments, and capacity expansions to support company growth and seasonal retail peaks (year-end holidays and mid-year Prime Day). The IT Project Manager drives scheduling, prioritization, and execution of these KTLO projects, and tracks their status and health through the team's reporting cadence.

The role also leads OP1/OP2 planning and budget management — partnering with finance and leadership through the annual operating-plan cycles to build headcount, CAPEX, and OPEX plans; owning budget forecasting and tracking actuals against plan; managing variance analysis; and ensuring spend aligns with approved plans throughout the year. The IT Project Manager consolidates inputs across teams, prepares the planning narratives and financial submissions, and reports budget health through the team's WOR/MBR/QBR cadence.

This position works with internal local departments, the local OTS FD team, and global PMO cross-functional peer groups to align on performance narratives and reporting standards that support company growth. The role requires not only strong analytical and data-storytelling skills, but also effective communication and stakeholder-management skills to align OTS FD team members across different teams and reporting lines toward common goals.

The Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) Field Deployment (FD) team plans and executes large-scale IT infrastructure work for all Amazon Operations customers, including Fulfillment, Transportation, and Logistics. We focus on the design, procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT infrastructure and equipment. We work with cross-functional peer groups in Operations Engineering, Real Estate, Worldwide Engineering, IT Infrastructure Engineering, and Tech Deployment and Field Support Global Project Management Office (TDFS Global PMO) to support new facility launches, expansions, and the deployment of new business solutions.
