Job Description

To this purpose, we are now seeking a passionate Optical Packaging Test Engineer who is committed to making a difference in the world through their contributions. You will be responsible for testing optical packages for NVIDIA's products.


We are looking for a highly motivated Optical Package Test Engineer in the Advanced Technology Group (ATG). Do you have a strong background in computational methods for advanced manufacturing? Are you proficient in one of the underlying fields, such as data visualization, optical testing, or optical systems? If yes, then we’d love to hear from you! The job requires working on complex problems and products; you will be providing solutions that are highly creative, and directly contribute to product differentiation.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for benchtop testing using advanced optical test equipment.

  • Updating testing methodologies and optical equipment.

  • Creating new documentation to standardize workflow and procedures.

  • Data collection and visualization of optical parameters in test chips.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams within NVIDIA and define optical package testing requirements.


What we need to see:

  • Bachelors Degree in Materials Science, Data Science, Physics or related fields or equivalent experience with 2+ years of work experience

  • Experience with optical test equipment like lasers, OPM, BRM, and optical switches.

  • Knowledge in optical connector standards.

  • Basic photonic device knowledge.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with data visualization using JMP.

  • Basic knowledge of Python.

  • Fiber industry experience.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 88,000 USD - 149,500 USD.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
