Job Description

Prime Video is on a mission to become the default entertainment destination for hundreds of millions of customers worldwide, and launching new content verticals is one of our top strategic priorities. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager, Technology whose primary output will be defining, launching, and scaling these new content verticals from zero to one. You will own the investment thesis, customer understanding, and end-to-end product strategy for each vertical, with a relentless focus on the customer at every stage. In this role, you will define the minimum lovable product, prioritize ruthlessly across product, content, and growth levers, and drive the success metrics that determine whether a new vertical reaches meaningful scale. Your decisions will directly affect how tens of millions of customers discover and engage with entirely new categories of entertainment on Prime Video.

Key job responsibilities
- Define and own the 3-5 year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for new content verticals on Prime Video, building the investment thesis and aligning stakeholders across engineering, design, content, marketing, and finance to take each vertical from concept to scaled launch.
- Lead deep-dive UX research and customer understanding initiatives to uncover how customers consume content across segments and geographies, then translate those insights into product requirements that put the customer at the center of every decision.
- Propose the minimum lovable product for each new content vertical, making deliberate trade-offs across product features, content investment, and growth levers to hit adoption and engagement targets that demonstrate real customer value at scale.
- Define success metrics that distinguish between output measures (e.g., adoption, traffic) and outcome measures (e.g., retention, customer satisfaction), and use experimentation and GenAI-powered analysis to accelerate learning cycles and validate that new verticals are meeting customer needs.
- Mentor product managers across the organization, influence cross-team priorities, and represent the customer perspective in leadership forums to drive alignment on strategic bets that expand Prime Video's content footprint.

A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing experiment results from a recently launched content vertical, checking whether customer engagement signals confirm your hypotheses. Next, you jump into a working session with UX researchers to synthesize findings from a customer study focused on an upcoming vertical. After lunch, you draft an investment narrative for a VP review, making the case for the next vertical to pursue based on customer demand and business impact. Later, you partner with engineering and design leads to refine the product roadmap and resolve open trade-offs before a milestone launch.

About the team
The Prime Video Global App Experience team builds the Prime Video experience across web, mobile, living room, and next-generation platforms. Our goal is to make Prime Video the place customers turn to first for entertainment. We are investing heavily in new content verticals that will reach tens of millions of customers, and this role sits at the center of that expansion. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, content strategists, and marketing partners in an inclusive environment where bold ideas are encouraged and measured rigorously against customer outcomes.
