Job Description

Come be a part of a rapidly expanding $100 billion-dollar global business. At Amazon Business, we set out every day to innovate and disrupt the status quo. We are disrupting Business to Business (B2B) by delivering new, efficient purchasing solutions to individual proprietors, to small-medium businesses, to global organizations (and everything in between).

Amazon Business (AB) Marketplace has built strong horizontal programs across selection, pricing, delivery, and seller management that serve B2B customers broadly. The next wave of growth requires going deeper: identifying underpenetrated industry verticals where B2B customers have specialized needs that our horizontal programs do not fully address, and building end-to-end 3P seller strategies tailored to those verticals.

As a Product Manager on the Amazon Business 3P team, you will own the vertical strategy for underpenetrated B2B categories in Japan. You will identify where our current 3P seller ecosystem falls short of meeting vertical-specific customer needs, define what it takes for sellers to succeed in those verticals, and drive execution across the full seller lifecycle: recruiting the right sellers, closing selection gaps, designing competitive pricing approaches, improving delivery experience, enabling value-added services, and launching go-to-market initiatives. Target verticals include areas such as medical supplies, food service, heavy and bulky goods, and softlines, and you will prioritize focus areas based on opportunity sizing and strategic fit.

This role requires working across organizational boundaries. You will partner closely with Retail category teams (CBD) who own vertical buyer strategy, the AB buyside team responsible for customer experience, and functional PM owners within the 3P team who manage horizontal programs (selection, pricing, DEX). You will also work directly with 3P Account Management teams responsible for seller recruiting and existing seller management. Your job is to connect these stakeholders around a shared vertical roadmap, define the 3P contribution, and drive measurable progress.

The ideal candidate is analytically strong, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and effective at influencing partners without direct authority. You should be energized by building something from a blank page rather than optimizing an existing program, and be willing to get hands-on with data, seller conversations, and partner team negotiations to move from problem definition to execution.

Key job responsibilities
Identify and prioritize underpenetrated B2B verticals based on customer demand signals, competitive landscape, and 3P seller ecosystem readiness.
Define end-to-end 3P vertical strategies covering seller recruiting, selection acquisition, pricing, delivery, services, and GTM.
Partner with Retail CBD, AB buyside, and AB3P functional PMs to align vertical roadmaps and secure cross-team commitment.
Work with 3P Account Management teams to translate vertical strategy into actionable seller recruiting and engagement plans.
Conduct market analysis, seller and customer research to understand vertical-specific requirements and barriers.
Define success metrics, build tracking mechanisms, and report progress to leadership.
Write business cases and strategy documents to secure investment and alignment for vertical initiatives.
