The Microsoft Fabric App Development team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of application development capabilities in Microsoft Fabric. Our mission is to enable developers, from low-code makers to professional developers, to build, manage, and operate data-intensive applications with the simplicity, productivity, and operational excellence of modern software-as-a-service platforms.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help design, develop, and deliver core platform capabilities that power Fabric applications. You will work in areas such as GraphQL APIs, User Data Functions, AI-powered developer experiences, and scalable application runtime services. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and architects across Microsoft to deliver high-quality platform capabilities that help developers build and operate applications at scale.
The team's engineering challenges span the full technology stack, including large-scale distributed systems, cloud services, developer tools, APIs, SDKs, and AI-powered development experiences. In this role, you will solve complex technical problems, contribute to component and feature design, and help advance the Microsoft Fabric application development platform.
You will apply strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills to deliver reliable, customer-focused solutions. You will have opportunities to work through ambiguity, collaborate across teams, and help drive projects from concept through production.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
