Job Description

Overview

The Windows Ecosystem & Customer Engagements (WECE) team works across the Windows ecosystem to improve device readiness, platform quality, and partner success. We partner closely with OEMs, silicon vendors, and Microsoft engineering teams to identify opportunities, resolve readiness challenges, and drive better outcomes for Windows devices.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - ARM Platform Readiness & Intelligence to help shape the technical readiness and evaluation of ARM-based Windows systems. This role combines deep Windows platform expertise with engineering execution. The successful candidate will evaluate platform architectures, participate in technical assessments alongside domain experts, identify patterns and risks across devices, and build scalable tools and intelligence systems that transform expert knowledge into repeatable assessment capabilities.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both understanding complex platform architectures and building systems that scale technical decision-making across a broad ecosystem.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with WECE PMs, OEMs, silicon vendors, and Microsoft engineering teams to evaluate ARM-based Windows platforms.
  • Participate in technical assessments of device architectures, BOMs, platform designs, and readiness criteria to identify risks and opportunities that may impact device quality, performance, reliability, or customer experience.
  • Develop expertise in Windows platform readiness by collaborating with subject matter experts across silicon, audio, graphics, connectivity, power, and system architecture domains.
  • Capture, synthesize, and codify technical learnings, historical exceptions, and best practices into repeatable assessment frameworks and decision models.
  • Design and build tooling, analyzers, and intelligence platforms that scale device readiness evaluations and improve consistency across the ecosystem.
  • Generate data-driven insights that influence product selection decisions and improve overall portfolio quality.
  • Contribute to a long-term vision for scalable hardware readiness intelligence, enabling broader coverage across devices while reducing dependency on manual expert reviews.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows platform technologies, kernel architecture, device drivers, or system-level software development.
  • Experience analyzing complex technical systems and working across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Experience building software, automation, analytics, or tooling to solve engineering problems.
  • Experience working with ARM-based platforms, silicon enablement, firmware, device development, or hardware ecosystems.
  • Experience working with OEMs, ODMs, IHVs, or silicon vendors.
  • Experience translating complex technical assessments into scalable engineering solutions or automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries and collaborate with technical experts to drive outcomes.
