Senior Staff Software Engineer, Platforms Security

• Drive technical strategy for hardware security across Google's fleet, leading transitions to open-source Roots of Trust (Caliptra, OpenTitan) and Post-Quantum Cryptography readiness.
• Co-design secure architectures with hardware teams, deploying critical software, firmware, and utilities for custom security chips, BIOS, and OS kernels.
• Connect bare-metal/RTOS systems (Rust/C, SPI, I2C) with fleet-wide cryptographic services, including CA operations, attestation, and credential binding.
• Represent Google in the hardware security ecosystem, driving community roadmaps and implementations for standards like OpenTitan, Caliptra, and TPM.
• Guide distributed teams through complex, high-impact deliverables from conception to deployment. Elevate engineering standards through modern CI/CD, automated hardware-in-the-loop testing, cross-functional alignment, and proactive mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
  
• 7 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
  
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Experience with Embedded Systems, Security Standards and C, C++, and Rust.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Experience in Cryptographic Algorithms, and Hardware Design.
