Shopping Product Advisor, Global Policy and Standards

• Anticipate policy issues (e.g., counterfeit goods, merchant fraud, deceptive pricing) to develop and implement shopping policies that prioritize user safety, product quality, and privacy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., Product, Engineering, T&S) to ensure comprehensive policy analysis, influence product decisions, and improve the user experience.
• Resolve high-profile policy issues coming from the public, users, and internal stakeholders.
• Build awareness and understanding of our product policies within Google and across our user base through research to set industry standards.
• Work with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 7 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment.
• Experience with regulations governing e-commerce or online shopping at a regulatory body or business.

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree (JD, MBA, or Master’s) in Business, Law, Public Policy, or a closely related field.
• Domain expertise in Trust and Safety, policy development, or risk management within e-commerce, technology, or digital advertising.
• Strong working knowledge of global consumer safety regulations, product compliance, and consumer protection laws.
• High adaptability, with the capacity to execute and navigate complex boundaries in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Exceptional communication skills to distill complex regulatory or policy issues into clear guidance for cross-functional partners.
