Overview
Windows Cloud Experiences is developing a best-in-class VDI solution to enable millions of customers to work with physical and virtual PCs.

We have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer II on the Windows Cloud Streaming, Mixed-Reality and Graphics Team.

We strongly believe that shifting workloads to the cloud is the future of computing. In the Cloud Streaming and Graphics team, we are leveraging the power of Azure to enable customers to work from everywhere on even the smallest, lowest powered devices. We build key technologies for low-latency streaming, innovating in areas such as real-time graphics, network resiliency, and video codecs, and bring powerful cloud compute anywhere through products such as Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.

We are looking for a software engineer with a solid C++ background and passion in some or all of the above areas to complement our team and join us on this exciting journey!

Responsibilities
  • Developing the next generation of cloud streaming technology for VDI experiences.
  • Designing, implementing, and evolving new tools and techniques to analyze and improve the visual quality and responsiveness of cloud streaming.
  • Working in close partnership with a team of diverse and talented peers in various disciplines including design, hardware, Program Management, and Software Development for sustained long term success, and partnering with your peers and technical leadership to deliver solid technical designs and architectures.
  • Working on all aspects of Software Development including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, documentation and delivery.
  • End-to-end ownership of your engineering activities and deliverables, from ideation to delivery.
  • You are expected to be a self-starter, capable of solving ambiguous and challenging technical problems with wide scope.
  • You will be expected to lead by example and maintain the standard and craftsmanship embodied in our products.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages with a focus on C++ specifically where C#, Java, or Python are advantageous. 
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid C++ development and debugging skills.
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment on a shared code base.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 71,700.00 - € 121,100.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
