Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure, XR

• Design with guidance, implement, deploy, maintain, and enhance complex software solutions that improve the developer workflow, code quality, and release velocity.
• Work with the team to identify and analyze pain points in the software development lifecycle; propose and implement innovative solutions, increasingly leveraging AI/ML.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered features into developer tools to assist with code generation, code review, test generation, bug detection/triaging, and more.
• Collaborate closely with various engineering teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and drive the adoption of new tools and best practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in software engineering, developer tools, AI/ML technologies, and internal Google platforms.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

• 3 years of software development experience, with a proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining complex software systems.
• Experienced (e.g., 2 years) in developing developer tools, automation frameworks, testing infrastructure, or CI/CD systems.
• Demonstrated experience or keen interest in applying AI/ML techniques to software engineering problems. This includes familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), and experience with platforms/tools like Gemini or other AI-driven development assistants.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Go, or C++.
