We are seeking a Software Engineer II who demonstrates independence and ownership, ready to tackle broader technical challenges for government agencies and internal stakeholders. You will take on increased responsibility while developing specialized expertise, helping to deliver secure, resilient, and compliant cloud services at scale.
Our team's mission is to grow the business by building software that fulfills our enterprise promises of high availability, resiliency, data management, security, and compliance across the entire suite of Azure services, with a special focus on government clouds.
As a Software Engineer II, you will work autonomously on feature areas with minimal supervision, connecting multiple investments to solve end-to-end technical problems. You will deepen your expertise while collaborating across disciplines and contributing to team culture. US citizenship is required for this role due to the sensitive nature of our government customer engagements.

Build scalable backend systems (distributed systems, microservices) with attention to data integration and defined contracts.
Apply engineering principles for high availability, scalability, robustness, and observability; contribute to SLO and telemetry practices.
Build and deploy services to Azure using modern CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, compliance, and site reliability to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Identify technical risks and dependencies; propose solutions and contribute to design decisions.
Uphold and apply engineering best practices (code quality, design reviews, testing, operational excellence).
Support engineers through knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
Participate in service ownership (e.g., on-call rotations) to ensure service quality and incident response.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
