As a Software Engineer, you will bring strong software design and engineering expertise, building reliable systems and production-ready services that turn ideas and data-driven insights into scalable solutions. You’ll work in small, multidisciplinary crews alongside data scientists, product managers, and domain experts, owning the full lifecycle from design through to deployed solutions.

Build and ship production software: Design, implement, test, and maintain services, applications, and tools using modern engineering practices (code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability).
Security and privacy by design: Follow Microsoft security, privacy, and compliance requirements; apply secure coding practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
Responsible AI engineering: When building AI-enabled features, apply responsible AI principles, evaluate model and data risks, and implement appropriate safeguards and monitoring.
Customer co-engineering: Work with customer stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical designs, and deliver solutions that meet agreed success metrics.
Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with PM, design, data science, and domain experts to make informed tradeoffs, document decisions, and drive alignment as One Microsoft.
Operate what you build: Participate in on-call/incident response as required, diagnose issues, and improve reliability through root-cause analysis and preventative fixes.
Contribute to reusable assets: Create and maintain reusable components, reference implementations, and documentation to accelerate delivery across engagements.
Continuous improvement: Learn, experiment, and share best practices to improve engineering velocity, quality, and customer outcomes.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
