Job Description

Central Operations refers to a new approach in Amazon Logistics (AMZL) to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. Central Operations is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes route planning, scheduling, on-road management and last mile delivery.

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to join the team and drive improvement in processes and technology used within the operational team. This person will have a strong ability to excel and develop in new teams with a high degree of ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities
- Seek to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal business partners
- Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems
- Identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
- Ensure critical path timelines are met, resource needs are understood and project prioritization is visible to senior leadership
- Work closely with operations, product teams and engineering teams to root cause and solve complex problems related to increasing capability and reliability of our systems
- Partnering with other analysts and BI engineers in planning and analytics to build analytical solutions to deliver on business goals

A day in the life
While you will always strive towards one goal, delighting customers, no two days will be the same. You lead meetings with multiple stakeholders to drive alignment for your programs. You coordinate and write multiple SOPs and documents with management visibility, from strategic to tests to reviews, requiring multiple inputs from several stakeholders. You challenge the status quo and drive data based decisions making with cross-functional teams. You plan and organize to ensure seamless execution. You will continuously find new problems to solve and be required to partner with teams across Japan and the globe to deliver for our customers. You will engage with your team members over 1on1s to offer career coaching guidance and program review. You take business trips within and outside Japan on a need basis to build your skills, network and to gain insights from other regions and bring and export best practices to and from Japan

JP Central Operations works with every major business lines like AMZL, SSD, AMXL, and Quick Commerce operations across Japan. Our four pillars are standardization, optimization, centralization, and innovation. We offer a variety of services such as route plan, scheduling, volume adjustment, on road management, system configuration, and risk mitigation. Basic qualifications

- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Business level Communication in English

Preferred qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
