PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Be involved in all aspects of the SDLC, from ideation to scoping to design & implementation. You will lead by example, and elevate the design, implementation, quality, and strong engineering practices across the team. Utilize programming skills in Java, Groovy, Go and other similar programming languages to build highly scalable systems. Produce code that is sufficiently supported by unit tests. Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the project. Code review peer's work, triage and solve live issues. Participate fully in all scrum team activities. Work with cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organizations. Maintain and enhance the existing architectural & developer documentations and create new ones. Consistently invest in your career growth through new technical or soft skills learnings. You will be a customer campaign, helping internal PayPal to onboard to Pipelines solution and enhance pipelines SDLC solution to adhere with ever changing needs. Have high energy and capable of thriving in high-paced and fun work environment. Partial telecommuting permitted from a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.              Possess knowledge of Git and GitHub (including GitHub Actions) (4 years)

2.              Familiar with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence) (4 years)

3.              Utilize experience provisioning/managing with Docker/Containerization, Kubernetes (Helm Charts), Terraform (IoC) and related technologies (4 years)

4.              Hands-on experience with the Harness CI/CD platform and experience designing/implementing CI/CD pipelines for Cloud Environments (AWS, GCP). (4 years)

5.              Experience in public cloud technologies GCP or AWS (4 years)

6.              Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, Bash (4 years)

7.              Knowledge/experience with Unix/Linux administration (4 years)

8.              Code quality tools – SonarQube (4 years)

9.              System Monitoring Tools and processes, including Datadog, Automation and CI/CD processes (4 years)

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is: 

Primary Location | Pay Range: 

Austin, TX | Salary: $167,149.00-221,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
