Role summary:
The Principal Data Scientist, Market Intelligence, is a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, advanced analytics, and AI innovation. As a key member of our Market & Competitive Intelligence team, you will shape how Walmart understands the competitive landscape, uncovers growth opportunities, and translates data into enterprise-level decisions. With direct exposure to executive leadership, you will pioneer scalable data products that influence critical business decisions while solving some of retail's most challenging and impactful problems.

The Market and Competitive Intelligence team drives impactful work at the intersection of strategy, advanced analytics, and AI innovation. This team shapes Walmart’s understanding of the competitive landscape, identifies growth opportunities, and translates data into enterprise-level decisions. With direct engagement with executive leadership, the team pioneers scalable data products that influence critical business outcomes. Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to measure performance against competition and inform business growth opportunities

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field

Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Publications or active peer reviewer in related journals or conference, Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R, Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
