Automation & AI Lead (f/m/div.)

As an Automation & AI Lead, you will drive the development and implementation of automation and AI solutions that improve and transform HR processes. You will combine technical expertise, business understanding, and team leadership to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and turn innovative ideas into scalable applications.

You will lead a team of Automation Specialists and Developers, collaborate closely with international stakeholders, and help shape the future of HR through automation, Generative AI, and intelligent workflows.

Your responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Automation Specialists and Developers, including resource planning, task allocation, and performance development.
• Identify and prioritize automation and AI opportunities across HR processes in close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions, including the integration of AI/ML technologies where relevant.
• Translate business requirements and complex process challenges into practical, scalable, and sustainable technical solutions.
• Facilitate workshops with international stakeholders to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, and define automation roadmaps.
• Coordinate collaboration between Business Analysts, Developers, external partners, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-powered assistants, and assess their potential value for HR processes.
• Drive proof-of-concepts and pilots, evaluate their results, and support the transition of successful solutions into productive environments.
• Contribute to solution architecture decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with the HR IT landscape.
• Identify potential risks and limitations related to AI and automation and support the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
• Monitor the impact and performance of automation solutions and continuously identify opportunities for further improvement.

Education

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

• Several years of professional experience in Automation, AI, Software Development, Solution Design, or Business Process Optimization.
• Proven experience in leading automation and/or AI projects from concept through implementation.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing technical teams.
• Experience working with international stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Know-how

• Strong experience in business process analysis, process design, and solution development.
• Hands-on experience with automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or comparable technologies.
• Good knowledge of AI concepts, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and their application to business processes.
• Good knowledge of Python and experience with APIs, integrations, or related technologies.
• Experience with solution design and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Understanding of AI-related risks, data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices.
• Knowledge of HR processes and/or HR IT environments is an advantage.

Languages

• Fluent English, written and spoken (C1 level).
• German is an advantage.
