Dev Technology Group seeks talented rising juniors and seniors for our Summer 2027 Internship Program. Interns will be based out of our headquarters in Reston, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking professional experience in software development, sysadmin, DevOps, or a related field.
What You'll Be Doing:
Participate in Agile software delivery activities, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
Learn about government technology consulting and how Microsoft technologies are used to modernize business processes and support federal missions.
Build hands-on experience across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, Copilot, and emerging AI capabilities.
Assist with the design and development of Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, SharePoint solutions, and other low-code applications based on business and client requirements.
Explore the use of Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Azure AI services, and generative AI to improve business processes and user experiences.
Gain exposure to AI agents and agentic workflows, including identifying appropriate use cases, prototyping solutions, and evaluating how AI can augment existing M365 and Power Platform applications.
Use AI-assisted development tools and modern development practices (including Dev Technology-specific capabilities) to accelerate prototyping, requirements analysis, application development, testing, and documentation.
Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and participate in solution demonstrations.
Support ongoing client delivery activities such as solution development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, research, administration, and platform governance.
Learn how enterprise Microsoft environments are managed, including concepts related to security, governance, application lifecycle management, environments, data protection, and responsible AI.
Research new Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Copilot, and Azure capabilities and help the Microsoft Practice evaluate their applicability to client challenges and internal solutions.
Apply structured problem-solving techniques to investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend potential solutions.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, solution diagrams, demonstrations, and other client-facing materials.
Collaborate with fellow Summer Interns on a team-based technology project, progressing from problem definition and requirements through prototype development, testing, and demonstration.
Present the summer project's solution, technical approach, lessons learned, and potential business value to company leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
Required Skills and Experience:
Rising juniors and seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Business Analytics, or another technology-related field
Demonstrated interest in Microsoft technologies, cloud computing, application development, automation, data, or artificial intelligence
Familiarity with one or more Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Power BI, Azure, or Microsoft Copilot
Exposure to application development, scripting, low-code development, data analysis, or automation through coursework, internships, projects, or independent learning
Coursework or hands-on experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, or PowerShell
Interest in generative AI, AI-assisted development, intelligent agents, and emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down business or technical challenges and evaluate potential solutions
Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, project managers, business analysts, and other technical and non-technical team members
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work and present technical concepts to different audiences
Ability to work both independently and as part of an Agile, collaborative delivery team
Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new technologies through hands-on experimentation and self-directed learning
Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and follow work through to completion
Must be able to commute to the Reston, Virginia office a minimum of two days per week
Our estimated salary range for this position is $21-$30/hr. This presented salary range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Offered salary is based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements as appropriate to the role. *Salary could fall outside of this range.
