Team and mission: AI Platform building and rolling out RAKBANK's Agentic SDLC platform (the Fabric), and using it to deliver real banking features. This role does both: builds the platform and proves it in production delivery.
Seniority: Senior (10+ years), of which a minimum of 4-5 years writing and
running production code Pluses: experience working with a bank or another regulated financial institution.
Interpersonal and stakeholder skills: Strong communicator who can move between audiences: fellow engineers and architects, and non-technical stakeholders in business, product, operations, risk, compliance and audit. Influences without authority builds credibility, wins over sceptics of AI-assisted delivery, and drives change in engineering habits across squads. Strong collaborator: constructive in code review, generous with knowledge, comfortable with disagreement, and able to explain trade-offs in plain language to squads or other stakeholders.
Nice to have: React Native, Apache Camel K, Flowable BPM, UAE banking domain knowledge, CBUAE security awareness. Experience introducing a developer platform or new engineering
practice at scale, and public technical writing or speaking.
AI tooling (must-have): Claude Code or GitHub Copilot used daily, spec-based development, AI-generated tests, skill-file authoring, prompt engineering, and MCP tool use within the Fabric.Reviews agent output critically and knows where human judgement must stay in the loop.
Frontend: React (mandatory), TypeScript, component design, responsive UI, Figma-to-code, accessibility and cross-browser behaviour.
Backend: Java 17+ / Spring Boot 3.x (mandatory), NodeJS (express, next.js etc), Python, microservices, DB design and modelling for backends, REST and event-driven APIs, OAuth2 / OIDC, PostgreSQL, Kafka / IBM MQ.
DevOps: Own their service pipeline: GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift, GitOps, automated testing, observability and on-call ownership of what they ship.

Hands-on experience with Spec-Driven Development: writing a precise, reviewable specification before code, treating the spec as the source of truth, and generating implementation and tests from it.
