As of 23 September, 50 roles are open in Abu Dhabi at 10 employers. 3 new roles have been posted since 21 September. The most common roles are AI engineers, software engineers and machine learning engineers. Of the roles that say how they work, 14% are remote or hybrid.
Among the roles listed here, AI engineers, software engineers and machine learning engineers each account for equal shares, together making up a substantial portion of the board. Product designers and research scientists are also well represented, alongside site reliability and robotics engineers. The balance of seniority tilts strongly toward experienced candidates: lead and senior roles together account for the large majority of postings, while mid-level and intern positions form a small minority. Most openings are not newly posted, with roughly half predating the past two months; only a small fraction appeared this week or last. A handful of employers account for the great majority of roles, indicating a concentrated hiring market rather than a broad spread of organisations.

Abu Dhabi has built several dedicated institutions around artificial intelligence. Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, founded in 2019, conducts graduate and undergraduate education and has released AI models including Jais, K2 and PAN. The Technology Innovation Institute develops the Falcon family of large language models and publishes them openly. G42, a technology holding group founded in the emirate in 2018, works across AI and cloud computing. Hub71 provides a start-up ecosystem anchored by major technology investors, and the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council, established in 2024, sets policy and strategy for the sector.
Python appears in a clear majority of role descriptions, making it the most consistently mentioned skill on the board. References to large language models, evaluation methods and APIs appear in roughly a third of postings, suggesting applied work with modern AI systems is common. C++ and computer vision feature in about a quarter of descriptions, reflecting the presence of robotics and embedded roles. DevOps tooling such as CI/CD and Kubernetes, along with cloud platforms, appears in a meaningful share of postings, pointing to an expectation of production engineering experience alongside modelling skills.

On-site work dominates the roles listed here by a wide margin, accounting for the great majority of those stating a work mode. Hybrid arrangements represent the remaining minority, and no roles are listed as fully remote. Candidates considering these positions should expect to be based in Abu Dhabi in person for most or all of their working week.
