AI Solution Engineer

Role Description

The AI Solution Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Zug, Switzerland. The individual in this role will design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions that support AECOM’s infrastructure and engineering projects, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical architectures. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and integrating AI models and software components, preparing technical demonstrations and proofs of concept, and collaborating with consulting and presales teams to shape solution proposals. The AI Solution Engineer will support client-facing engagements by explaining AI capabilities in clear business terms, participate in solution workshops, and ensure successful integration of AI tools into existing workflows and systems. The role also involves monitoring solution performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to continuous improvement, documentation, and best practices for AI adoption across the organization.

• Strong Software Development skills, including experience with AI/ML frameworks, APIs, and modern programming languages.
• Consulting and Presales experience, with the ability to gather requirements, design solution architectures, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Sales and client engagement skills to support proposal development, demos, and solution presentations aligned with client needs.
• Integration experience, including connecting AI solutions with existing enterprise systems, data platforms, and engineering tools.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience delivering AI or data-driven solutions in infrastructure, engineering, or related industries is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with a focus on solution reliability and scalability.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly in English; additional languages are a plus.
