Job Description

Are you passionate about turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive meaningful business decisions? As a Business Intelligence Engineer II at Amazon, you will design and build scalable data solutions that power how teams understand performance, identify opportunities, and make informed choices.
At Amazon, we work every day to be the most Customer-centric company on earth. To deliver on this promise, the TMAT Network Design Modeling team continuously optimizes Amazon's transportation network to balance speed, cost, resilience, and sustainability. The TMAT Core Design Modeling team is seeking a BIE II who will own Amazon's core network design modeling capabilities and lead the transformation toward "always on" modeling that drives proactive network optimization and strategic decision-making.
In this role, you will own end-to-end analytics — from data modeling and pipeline development to visualization and stakeholder communication. You will tackle loosely defined problems, apply analytical rigor, and deliver high-quality data products that directly influence strategy. If you thrive on making sense of ambiguity and want your work to have real impact at scale, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities
- Run and Improve Network Design Models working with Technical Product Managers and Applied Scientists and analyze the modeled outputs
- Design, build, and maintain mid-to-large-scale BI solutions including data models, ETL pipelines, and curated datasets that serve as trusted sources of truth for business reporting and decision-making.
- Develop intuitive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using industry analytics tools to surface key metrics and enable stakeholders to self-serve insights where appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners — including data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business teams — to refine ambiguous problem statements into specific, measurable deliverables that address real business needs.
- Apply statistical methods and analytical techniques to complex business questions, clearly communicating findings, assumptions, and limitations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Improve data quality and operational excellence by documenting data lineage, maintaining clear design documentation, and mentoring peers on how your team's BI solutions are constructed and consumed.

About the team
Our team is focused on enabling smarter, faster decisions through reliable data and thoughtful analytics. We build the foundational BI infrastructure that teams across our organization depend on to measure what matters and act with confidence. We value collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to getting the details right. As we continue to grow, we are investing in new tools and approaches to expand the reach and impact of our data products — and you will play a key role in shaping that future.
