Job Description & Summary

Our Slovak team, works closely with PwC Germany as a nearshore consulting team supporting transformation projects in the financial services sector. We bring together strong German language capabilities, technology skills, consulting skills, and understanding of banking, insurance and other FS domains. 

We have been fully & seamlessly integrated with PwC Germany but you will also be part of the Slovak technology consulting team and will have the opportunity to be involved in activities in both countries.   

As a Data & AI Governance Consultant within Technology Consulting (German Projects), you will work on transformational projects for clients in the financial sector, especially banks, insurance companies, and investment firms in Germany.  You will play a key role in shaping and embedding the Data & AI operating model and governance framework across the organization. You will work closely with data owners, data stewards, platform teams, and key stakeholders to ensure data is managed as a strategic asset, in line with regulatory, compliance, and business needs.

Your responsibilities would include:  

• Developing and enforcing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards  

• Supporting the implementation of data stewardship and data ownership models across domains  

• Collaborating with data owners, stewards, and platform teams to ensure consistent governance practices  

• Driving adoption of data governance tools (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Informatica)  

• Monitoring compliance with data governance policies and supporting audits or regulatory reporting  

• Promoting data literacy and awareness through trainings, documentation, and community engagement  

• Contributing to innovation management initiatives within the Data & AI organization  

• Preparing clear and structured presentations and reporting dashboards for senior stakeholders for senior stakeholders  

You would work on projects like: 

AI Governance & EU AI Act Readiness – You help financial institutions prepare for the new AI regulatory landscape. You assess AI use cases, define governance processes, and establish controls that ensure compliance, transparency, and responsible AI adoption. Within months, you'll see your governance framework shaping how AI is used across the organization. 

Building Data & AI Operating Models – You help organizations define how data and AI should be managed at scale. You bring together business stakeholders, data teams, and technology experts to clarify roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes. You create structures that allow innovation to grow while maintaining control, quality, and regulatory compliance. 

Requirements:

• Completed university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Business Informatics, Data Management, Information Systems, or a comparable field; candidates with an interdisciplinary background (e.g., business combined with technology, digital transformation, payments, AI, or financial services) are also welcome 

• 3 + years of relevant professional experience, ideally in financial services, consulting, banking, payments, fintech, or a related financial environment  

• Experience designing or implementing Data & AI operating models and data governance frameworks. 

• Understanding of data stewardship, data ownership, and governance frameworks including defining roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability structures across business domains 

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (data owners, data stewards, business representatives, platform and engineering teams) to align and embed governance practices across the organization. 

• Hands-on or coordination experience with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica or similar) including driving tool adoption and onboarding across teams 

• Experience contributing to or driving innovation initiatives within a Data & AI organization (e.g., AI governance, emerging data management practices, process automation) 

• Desired qualifications: Experience monitoring data governance compliance, including policy adherence, governance controls, audit readiness, and regulatory requirements (nice to have) 

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 

• Ability to translate complex topics into clear presentations and documentation 

• Proactive, structured, and collaborative mindset 

• Strong learning mindset and willingness to continuously develop professional and consulting skills.  

• Experience using German at B2-C1 level and English at C1 level in a professional environment  

Additional Information:  

Salary: starting from 2 000 EUR/month  

(The stated salary represents the minimum for this position. Final compensation is determined individually based on your experience, expertise, seniority, and overall profile. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus linked to individual results and the company’s success.)
