Microsoft is seeking a highly analytical and strategic finance professional to drive financial planning and business insights across AI, Copilot, and cloud consumption businesses. This role sits at the center of Microsoft's rapidly growing consumption economy and serves as a key finance partner across Engineering, Capacity, Commercial Finance, and Infrastructure teams.
The Group Finance Manager will help shape Microsoft's long-range financial outlook by connecting customer demand, product usage trends, AI workloads, datacenter investments, and profitability outcomes. The role combines strategic modeling, executive storytelling, and deep business partnership to influence some of Microsoft's largest investment decisions.

Consumption Economics & Business Modeling
Own financial modeling of AI, Copilot, and cloud consumption businesses.
Develop and maintain end-to-end consumption economics frameworks linking product usage, revenue, COGS, margins, and infrastructure requirements.
Evaluate economic implications of new products, pricing models , and monetization strategies.
Partner with engineering and business leaders to understand key demand drivers and workload growth patterns.
Datacenter Long-Range Planning (LRP)
Lead the financial planning process supporting datacenter and AI infrastructure investments.
Translate demand forecasts into infrastructure requirements and long-range capital needs.
Develop multi-year scenarios evaluating growth, utilization, margin, and return-on-investment outcomes.
Partner with capacity planning teams to assess supply-demand balances and investment tradeoffs.
Scenario Planning
Build driver-based forecasting models for AI, cloud, and consumption workloads.
Develop best-case, base-case, and downside scenarios to support strategic decision making.
Analyze demand signals, usage trends, customer adoption patterns, and infrastructure constraints.
Executive Insights & Leadership Support
Prepare executive reviews, business updates, and long-range planning presentations.
Present strategic recommendations to Finance and Engineering leadership.
Translate complex technical and operational topics into actionable financial insights.
Influence decisions through fact-based analysis and clear financial storytelling.
Experience leading teams and developing talent.
Experience supporting cloud, AI, infrastructure, or technology businesses.
Deep understanding of business economics, profitability analysis, and cost allocation methodologies.
Experience working with large-scale data, reporting platforms, and financial automation.
Ability to connect technical, operational, and financial drivers into clear business insights.
Experience operating effectively in highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
Financial Analysis IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
