NewDesign and develop autonomous vehicle stack components including perception, mapping, planning, and control, integrating prototypes into production on OEM platforms. This senior role requires 5+ years of industry experience and strong C/C++, QNX/Linux, and real-time embedded systems expertise. You'll optimize feature performance across vehicles and regions, troubleshoot complex issues using simulation and vehicle logs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and OEM partners. Travel within EU and internationally for vehicle testing is required.
Written from this posting by Neural Jobs AI. The full description is below.
At NVIDIA, we are building the next generation AI-native autonomous driving architecture — combining classical safety stacks, foundation models, and scalable AI systems into a unified production platform. Autonomous driving is entering a new era. The next generation of AV systems will not be purely classical stacks, nor purely end-to-end neural networks. The future lies in the deep integration of classical architectures and large-scale AI-driven systems. If you have the drive to build the future of autonomous systems over the next decade, this is the place!
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will work on state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle technologies in AI / deep learning, computer vision, mapping, prediction, and vehicle control. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and integrating components of AV stack. In this role, you will be working with cross-functional teams within NVIDIA as well as OEM partners locally.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Design, develop, optimize components of NVIDIA's AV stack and integrate on OEM platforms, taking features from prototype to production performance.
Evaluate and tune feature performance across OEM carlines, platforms, regions, ODDs, and sensor configurations, ensuring that KPIs reflect real-world performance.
Triage complex feature issues, identify root causes using simulation, replay tools, vehicle logs, and on-vehicle diagnostics and drive end-to-end resolution in collaboration with customer engineering teams.
Develop AI-assisted tools for large-scale replay, KPI evaluation, issue classification, root-cause analysis, and regression detection
What We Need To See:
BS/MS/PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
Strong C/C++ and QNX/Linux skills, including modern C++, data structures, debugging, software design, and performance optimization in real-time embedded/control systems
Deep expertise in one or more components of AV stack — Perception, Mapping, Planning & Control
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across global teams and more importantly with OEM partners
A proactive, self-driven, owner mindset.
Travel within EU and internationally for vehicle testing and OEM collaboration as needed
Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd:
Experience delivering one or more components of production grade AV stack: Perception, Fusion, Mapping, Planning & Control
Hands-on deep learning experience — model training, evaluation, and optimisation under production-grade deployment constraints.
Advanced control theory — classical, nonlinear, MPC, or optimal control — applied to real vehicle behavior.
Certified test driver experience in Europe
