JOB TITLE: Squad Lead & Lead Content Designer - 12 Month FTC

SALARY: £92,701 - £109,060

LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full-time

What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for someone who is confident leading a team of multidisciplinary designers in a fast-paced delivery setting, as well as working to champion and evolve the Content Design discipline alongside our other Senior Content Designer, within the Segments & Propositions (S&P) platform.

It’s an exciting time to join S&P, as we look for new opportunities (including within AI and LLMs) to enable our customers to better understand their financial foundations, and make personalised, educated choices about their financial future.

You love your craft, and take opportunities to champion and enhance the Content and Conversation Design disciplines across the business. You are highly confident and competent designing content in all forms, from basic UI to long-form storytelling, from push notifications to LLM chat.

You’re happy applying evidence and insights to influence senior stakeholders, and are equally comfortable collaborating with product and engineering colleagues, managing your design delivery squad on a day-to-day basis, or facilitating cross-team workshops and design crits.

It’ll be your role to:

• Provide day-to-day design leadership to a multidisciplinary squad, creating clarity on priorities, outcomes, quality and the role of design within delivery.
• Represent the squad within the wider platform, managing dependencies, sharing progress and ensuring the work aligns with Lab and platform priorities.
• Help lead the content design discipline across the platform.
• Work as a peer to other squad leads, bringing specialist content depth while contributing to joined-up experience decisions.
• Turn complex financial concepts, rules and choices into clear, accessible and actionable customer experiences across channels.
• Support other content designers in the platform to create engaging, accessible and memorable copy to support outstanding digital customer experiences.
• Help shape and define overarching Content Design guidelines and workflows. Lead on copy, brand personality and tone.
• Demonstrate a forensic understanding of customer needs, pouring this insight into irresistible digital experiences.
• Champion accessibility, inclusion, plain language, brand personality and tone, ensuring content meets relevant standards and customer needs.

What we’re looking for?

• Hands-on experience managing and leading a design team within an agile environment.  
• The ability to bring different disciplines together around clear customer outcomes, whilst maintaining design quality from discovery through to release.  
• Confidence representing the squad across the platform, influencing senior stakeholders, managing dependencies and aligning with Lab priorities.
• Experience embedding Content Design as an integral part of the product development process.
• A varied portfolio showcasing how you use your specialism to generate customer-centred outcomes and influence the business.
• Experience working with the latest design tools, such as Figma.
• The ability to influence and manage stakeholders across product, risk, legal and engineering teams.

And any experience of these would be great

• The confidence to work across a complex business landscape – ideally, previously in financial services.
• Examples of developing and maintaining business-wide content standards, guidelines and tone of voice.
