Position Overview:
Join our pre-sales team of data and AI specialists as a Senior Data Solution Architect. You'll partner with customers to co-create solutions and expand ServiceNow's presence across data platforms, Intelligent Automation and Generative AI. This role shapes and showcases the technical vision for ServiceNow's emerging data capabilities, including RaptorDB and Workflow Data Fabric. It focuses on distributed databases, data integration and advanced analytics, alongside the broader ServiceNow AI ecosystem, including Now Assist and Agentic AI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data and AI Evangelism: Serve as a key technical advisor and advocate for ServiceNow's RaptorDB, Workflow Data Fabric and AI products. Explain the benefits and capabilities of integrated data and AI solutions to business and technical stakeholders.
- Architecture Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to customers on how to architect, scale and operate transactional and analytical workloads on RaptorDB. Provide guidance on distributed, multi-region and high availability architectures, performance tuning and data compliance best practices.
- Customer Engagement and Problem Solving: Lead technical discovery sessions to identify customer needs, data integration challenges and architectural gaps. Design ServiceNow solutions that solve business and technical problems while accounting for key regulations, business drivers, evolving needs and security.
- Strategic Alignment: Align opportunity engagement and skills with ServiceNow's strategic and enterprise accounts.
- Demonstrations: Deliver standard and tailored demonstrations of ServiceNow's data and AI solutions to prospects and existing customers, both on-site and virtually.
- Proof-of-Concept and Value Engineering: Scope, build and deliver proof-of-concept and proof-of-value engagements that demonstrate the technical strengths and business impact of ServiceNow's data and AI capabilities.
- Competitive Differentiation: Provide insight into the competitive data platform landscape, explaining trade-offs and positioning RaptorDB against alternatives.
- Solution Storytelling: Communicate complex technical solutions clearly and compellingly to technical and executive audiences, aligning technical value to business priorities.
- Sales Support: Partner with the sales team across the full presales lifecycle, from qualification to close, including sizing, solution validation and architecture workshops.
- Subject Expert Representation: Speak at marketing events such as user conferences, trade shows and webinars.
- Collaboration and Enablement: Work with sales, marketing, product and field enablement teams to build sales assets, share customer insights, influence the roadmap and run enablement sessions for Solution Consultants and account teams.
- Innovation and Industry Trends: Stay current on data and AI advancements so solutions remain cutting-edge and competitive. Foster a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing across the team, with customers and in the field.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience: 10+ years in technical presales, consulting, solution engineering or architecture roles with direct customer engagement. Enterprise software experience is a must.
- Data Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of distributed database concepts, transactional and analytical processing, replication, sharding and storage optimization.
- Data Engineering and Integration: Hands-on experience with data ingestion, ETL pipelines, real-time streaming platforms and integration technologies (REST, JDBC, Kafka, etc.), including large relational and NoSQL data stores and techniques to make data consumable by AI models.
- AI Expertise: 3+ years of technical experience selling AI models, deep learning models and Large Language Models, with a focus on Generative AI.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong coding and scripting ability in SQL, Python or similar languages to prototype solutions. Experience with data modeling, query optimization, performance benchmarking and capacity planning. Development experience on cloud-based AI platforms; knowledge of NVIDIA LLMs and Microsoft Azure is highly valued.
- Platform and Certifications: Experience with low-code/no-code application development platforms. ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD) are strongly preferred. Certification in a major AI platform (e.g. Microsoft Azure OpenAI) and LLMOps experience are valued.
- Product Knowledge: Experience with ServiceNow's Predictive/Task Intelligence, AI Search and Virtual Agent is highly valued.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with a storytelling mindset that translates complex data and AI concepts into clear business value for technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work consultatively with customers and partners.
- Strategic Understanding: Ability to see the bigger picture and the business drivers behind data, AI and automation technologies.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the work week to support technical sales activities.
Additional Relevant Experience:
- Competitive Landscape: Familiarity with platforms such as MongoDB Atlas, Snowflake, BigQuery, Google Spanner, DynamoDB or Cloudera is a strong plus.
- Industry Experience: Experience in a fast-growing technology company, including software, cloud or customer experience.
- Sales Expertise: Experience in Value-Based Selling or Solution Selling.
- Sales Process Understanding: Understanding of the sales process and acting as a trusted advisor to Specialist Sales, account management and the extended sales organization.
