Job Description

Job Purpose

At Emirates, we believe in connecting the world, to and through, our global hub in Dubai; and in constantly innovating to ensure our customers ‘Fly Better’.  Do you want to play a part in that journey and own technical products used by stakeholders and customers across the world? Join us in cosmopolitan Dubai as a Technical Product Manager and make your mark on the aviation world by taking our products to the next level!

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will manage a diverse product landscape across the SkyCargo business domain. This role requires a strategic leader capable of balancing competing priorities, maintaining product health, and shaping the long-term roadmap across vertical (domain-specific) and horizontal (shared capability) needs.

The TPM will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that product direction aligns with organisational goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving business processes. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, drive value delivery through Agile practices, and support cross-functional teams in achieving consistent and impactful outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with TPOs (technical product owners), peer groups, vendors, and other IT stakeholder groups to deliver ongoing and future Program Increment Planning (PIs), utilising business value, assessing available capacity, and effectively sequencing and prioritising backlogs.
  • Lead a team of TPOs through collaboration, delegation, and empowerment to ensure effective delivery of our technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and service management teams to ensure the overall backlogs are balanced to provide a scalable, user experience-optimized, stable, and performant technology product that continually meets business needs.
  • Ensure Technical Debt, NFRs (Non-Functional Requirements), and System enablers are considered, captured, and cascaded to team backlogs.
  • Participate in Sprint demos at the team level and assist in the preparation of system demos and other varied levels of involvement across a suite of Demos and Visual Release Notes at the team level. Engage in the preparation and delivery of PI demos to the stakeholder group via Inspect & Adapt workshops with the overall goal of driving increased use and adoption.
  • Responsible for the quality and integrity of the data held in the Product Catalogue for your specific Product.
  • Define a methodology for analysing and responding to target metrics and value post PI delivery, aiming to drive increased use and adoption of our technology products.
  • Develop and mentor TPOs, supporting their professional development. Contribute to the TPM peer community in identifying and acting upon opportunities for Learning and Development, growth, and advancement.
  • Maintain the quality and integrity of the data held in the Product catalogue and features within the technical and team boundaries, ensure the identification and contribution of risks and dependencies and ensure appropriate team backlogs reflect any impact.
  • Drive the partnership with applicable product vendors, ensuring timely feature/product upgrades, and maximising the product's efficiency and effectiveness. Minimise bespoke customisation and influence business process changes to best utilise vendor-supplied products.
Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Technical Product Manager or Product Owner in a technology-driven environment.
  • Extensive experience in Airline Cargo product management, with a proven track record of designing, modernising, and evolving cargo platforms and digital products across the cargo value chain.
  • Deep cargo domain expertise with the ability to model business capabilities and product ecosystems, leveraging emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance operations, customer experience, and commercial performance.
  • Certified in SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), Agile Product Management (APM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how they translate into technical requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across technical architecture, system integrations, enterprise platforms, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience in managing competing priorities by balancing vertical domain needs with horizontal shared capabilities or enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Proficient in modern product management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Miro, Confluence, backlog planning frameworks).
  • Exceptional communication skills at peer, leadership, and executive levels.
  • Strong influencing ability in multi-stakeholder environments with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated capability in team development, coaching, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a strong appetite for identifying value and driving measurable outcomes.

The Technical Product Manager - SkyCargo will be responsible for evangelising a domain of our roadmap for our Cargo products.
