Description -
This opportunity is intended for conversion to a full-time role that will not offer work authorization sponsorship in the future (full-time conversion pending performance evaluation post internship and available headcount). Interested candidates must be currently eligible to work in the US AND must not require work authorization sponsorship in the future. Join us for a 12-week paid summer internship designed to let you apply your classroom learnings to real world challenges. Our internships have a thoughtful balance of networking, executive speakers, community involvement, big meaty projects (no paper filing here!) and fun!The AI Applied Engineering Intern will support the optimization of HP’s Agentic AI ecosystem for edge devices. The intern will focus on improving the inference layer to enhance AI model performance, efficiency, responsiveness, and deployment on resource-constrained hardware.
The role combines software engineering, machine learning, and system design to evaluate AI workflows, identify performance bottlenecks, and develop practical optimization solutions. The intern will collaborate with engineering and strategy teams while using AI development tools such as Codex, Copilot, and Claude.
