Digital Project Manager — Industrial AI, Asset Intelligence & Digital Manufacturing

Position Summary 

Sia/LBG is seeking an experienced Digital Project Manager to support a Frederick, Maryland’s manufacturing site as it advances a prioritized portfolio of roughly 40 digital and AI use cases. This is an on-site digital delivery role, not a capital projects role: the focus is on implementing and sustaining digital tools and industrial AI platforms across manufacturing, maintenance, and asset management, rather than physical plant or facility construction.

This person will own the day-to-day backlog of digital initiatives at the site, coordinate onboarding of newly prioritized use cases as they move through the site's Q4 prioritization cycle and serve as the site-based point of contact connecting operations, engineering, quality, and Sia/LBG's broader digital team. The role must be filled by someone able to work on-site, full-time, and in close proximity to the operational teams they support.

The work spans industrial AI and asset intelligence platforms (Cognite, HighByte, Seeq), maintenance scheduling and predictive maintenance planning (including tools such as Vertex), and asset documentation such as P&IDs, equipment availability, and breakdown history. This role is not a hands-on data science or platform-engineering position; the emphasis is on delivery, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination. The site is concurrently running Process Performance Qualifications (PPQs) and preparing for/undergoing FDA and other regulatory inspections, so this person must be able to sequence digital work sensitively around those constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the site's digital/AI use-case backlog (~40 identified use cases), driving prioritization, sequencing, and onboarding of new use cases through the Q4 planning cycle.
• Serve as day-to-day project manager for digital (non-capital) initiatives spanning asset intelligence, process intelligence, and maintenance planning.
• Coordinate deployment, adoption, and ongoing use of industrial AI / asset-intelligence platforms such as Cognite, HighByte, and Seeq across manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Partner with maintenance and reliability teams on maintenance scheduling (e.g., Vertex) and preventive/predictive maintenance planning, including OEE-related initiatives where prioritized.
• Maintain and organize asset intelligence documentation: P&IDs, equipment availability, breakdown/downtime history to support technician checklists and troubleshooting workflows.
• Coordinate with quality, engineering, and site leadership to sequence digital work appropriately around the site's active commercial manufacturing and regulatory inspections.
• Track project status, risks, dependencies, and timelines, and report progress to site and Sia/LBG digital leadership.
• Act as the proximal, site-based digital PM, embedded with the digital lean team rather than remote.

Required 

• 3-7 years of experience as a Project Manager supporting digital, technology, or data-enabled initiatives (this is not a capital/construction project management role).
• Comfortable operating in a GxP/regulated manufacturing environment; formal GxP certification is not required.
• Familiarity with industrial AI / asset-intelligence platforms such as Cognite, HighByte, or Seeq, or comparable platforms.
• Ability to manage a multi-workstream backlog and prioritize across a large portfolio of digital use cases.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across engineering, maintenance, quality, and IT/digital functions.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site, full-time, at the Frederick, MD site.

Preferred

• ​​Direct pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
• Direct experience with industrial AI / asset-intelligence platforms Cognite, HighByte, or Seeq.
• Experience with maintenance scheduling / CMMS platforms such as Vertex.
• Familiarity with OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and predictive maintenance concepts.
• Experience supporting sites through FDA inspections (PAI) or Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) campaigns.
• Experience with asset documentation such as P&IDs, LOTO procedures, and equipment breakdown/checklist management.

Compensation  

• Base Salary: $75,000-115,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by applicable law.

Workplace 
Sia values in-person collaboration. When serving clients, consultants may be required to work onsite at a client location based on engagement needs. Between client engagements, consultants are expected to work from a Sia office or approved coworking location at least three days per week. Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of a Sia office or approved coworking location. Sia maintains offices and coworking arrangements across multiple U.S. markets, including New York City, Charlotte, Greater Seattle, San Francisco Greater Bay Area, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Washington D.C.
