WW SME&C Finance team is a group of finance professionals who analyze the Microsoft business models across countries, channels, and product groups on a daily basis. Our responsibilities range from financial analysis, transformational analysis, pricing & licensing analysis, investment analysis, and competitive analysis to forecasting, planning, and whitespace identification. We help business partners make strategic decisions through educating, driving and implementing financial thinking around revenue today and business models for the future. We drive thought leadership on how to measure success for our scale business in the Corporate Managed and SMB Business space.

Responsibilities

The SME&C ABS & Security Group Finance Manager position provides a great opportunity to work with the WW MCAPS Finance Team, Area finance CSA teams, and WW SME&C Business to oversee Microsoft SMC Commercial revenue worldwide.

In this role you are accountable for:

  • GTM execution excellence across ABS & Security, helping translate the plan into measurable execution indicators and driving the actions that close performance gaps.
  • Lead business case development for new initiatives and strategic changes, partnering with EG and Core teams to drive alignment, and rapid execution.
  • Provide actionable insights on pricing, new SKU (GTM), and resource allocation to inform executive decisions
  • Own end to end CSP and Direct for ABS & Security, partnering with the channel teams to define metrics, leading indicators, and the risk and opportunity narrative carried to leadership.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the SMB segment on all ABS & Security finance matters — the single front door for questions on performance, budget, targets, definitions, and data, and the person who routes and resolves them across Corporate and the field.
  • Foster strong cross-team collaboration across finance, sales finance, and corporate functions.
  • Drive standardization and simplification across the SME&C CSA community, SME&C Ops, shared resource teams, and Corporate teams (EG, MCAPS HQ, FDE), retiring duplicative reporting and raising the floor on quality.

 

Prioritization

 

  • Lead and influence finance transformation efforts, including systems, tools, and process improvements (e.g., financial systems implementation, BI, and Copilot-enabled finance workflows).
  • Guides the team on the rhythm of the business that keeps our teams aligned to one calendar, one set of definitions, and one version of the numbers across every solution area within the CSA team.
  • Mentor and coach peers and the finance community by setting direction, raising the analytical bar, and helping them translate data into insight and build their own bench strength.

 

Partnership

 

  • Provides insights into business health, industry benchmarks, and growth. Advances solutions and action plans to land accountabilities.
  • Parter with FP&A team to enable financial reporting, KPI frameworks, and business performance management for SME&C
  • Understands business results and translates into forward looking point of view to drive strategic decisions with the senior leaders.
  • Facilitates to resolve complex issues and offer solutions to ensure business objectives are met. Shares business expertise to help others implement and execute their goals.

 

Protect

 

  • Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance.
  • Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization. Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust; advocates, educates and promotes best practices and new developments.
  • Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed.
  • Guides team and encourage others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 3+ years work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 3+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.

 



Financial Analysis IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
