Purpose of the role
The purpose of a Product Owner is to maximize the value of the product by defining a clear product vision (are they setting the vision or would this align to ), managing authoring, refining and prioritizing the Product Backlog balancing trade-offs across desirability, viability and feasibility – making sure the right thing is being ‘built’, and prioritising work based on business goals. They act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring the product meets user/customer needs and delivers optimal value. Product Owners are responsible for developing a roadmap and driving execution of their product area/sub-journey, applying continuous improvement principles and techniques.

Join us as a Senior Digital Product Owner for Identity Services at Barclays, where you will shape the future of our digital identity platform and drive product strategy that balances customer experience, security, and business value.
You'll lead the product vision and roadmap for our Identity Services capability, working closely with engineering, design, security, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative authentication and identity solutions that power seamless, secure customer journeys across our digital channels.
To be successful in this role you should have:
· Deep experience in digital product management with a proven track record of delivering successful products, preferably in identity, authentication, security, or fintech domains
· Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management, authentication technologies, and user authentication experiences including biometrics, multi-factor authentication, and passwordless solutions
· Strong technical acumen with ability to understand complex technical architectures, APIs, and integration patterns, and translate them into clear product requirements
· Expertise in Agile product management methodologies with experience writing user stories, managing backlogs, and leading sprint planning and product ceremonies
· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with proven ability to influence senior leadership, align cross-functional teams, and drive consensus
Some other highly desirable skills include:
· Experience managing IAM products built on Ping Identity, Open Policy Agent or similar platforms and engines
· Background in customer experience (CX) design, user research, and data-driven product decision making with strong analytical skills
· Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to identity and authentication (PSD2, GDPR, KYC/AML)
· Experience in financial services or regulated industries with understanding of risk, controls, and security considerations
· Track record of building and mentoring product teams and driving product innovation and thought leadership
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role will be based out of our London office with flexible hybrid working arrangements..
