Senior Specialist, AI Risk

We are seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, AI Risk to join our Technology Risk Management (TRM) team. This role is located in Pittsburgh PA. This individual contributor role is focused on the hands-on execution required to build and sustain the newly established second line of defense AI Risk team. The Senior Associate will pivot across a broad portfolio of technical analysis, forward-looking research, risk issue management, metric breach analysis, and AI agent build activities. The role works closely with Technology, AI Hub, Engineering, Data, Risk & Compliance, and business stakeholders on a new and rapidly changing risk area that requires foundational experience, analytical judgment, and strong interpersonal skills.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:  

AI Risk Analysis & Research:

• Perform risk analysis across AI capabilities, use cases, platforms, and supporting technologies.
• Conduct forward-looking research on AI technology, risk, controls, regulatory expectations, and changes in the threat environment.
• Analyze AI risks and control considerations and translate findings into clear, auditable outputs for second line oversight.
• Support risk identification, assessment, measurement, and monitoring activities across the AI Risk portfolio.
• Prepare analysis and materials to support AI Risk decisions, governance, and stakeholder discussions.

Issues & Metrics:

• Support AI risk issue management activities, including analysis, documentation, tracking, and remediation oversight.
• Analyze AI risk metric breaches, identify root causes, and support development and tracking of paths to green.
• Maintain clear documentation and evidence to support governance, regulatory, and audit needs.

AI Innovation

• Build, configure, test, or support AI agents used to strengthen or scale AI Risk activities.
• Pivot across priorities and execute assignments in a rapidly evolving AI business and risk environment.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• 2+ years of experience in technology risk, cyber risk, data risk, model risk, AI risk, automation, or a related analytical or technical role.
• Foundational knowledge of AI technologies, AI risks, controls, and the evolving business and threat environment.
• Experience performing technical analysis, research, issue management, metrics analysis, or related risk activities.
• Ability to analyze risk metric breaches, identify root causes, and support development of practical remediation paths.
• Hands-on experience building, configuring, testing, or supporting AI-enabled solutions or automation is preferred.
• Working knowledge of risk management concepts, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, controls, metrics, governance, and issue management.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate, and auditable outputs.
• Ability to pivot across a broad portfolio, manage changing priorities, and work effectively in a rapidly evolving area.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage technology, risk, and business stakeholders.
