GLOBAL COMMERCIAL CARDS SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Global Commercial Cards Senior Product Manager.

The Senior Cards Product Manager will support and drive the growth of our Commercial Cards products globally meeting our customer needs while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulation and maintaining appropriate risk management controls.

The role is responsible for managing several different Product Management disciplines including product governance, solution design, managing strategic cards partnerships, support product development, developing the client proposition, customer pipeline management and supporting market commercialisation across relevant customer segments. 

The position plays an instrumental role in driving change and innovation that requires the incumbent to adopt a flexible yet resolute approach to removing hurdles to execute breakthrough strategies that benefit our customers and our shareholders.

The role covers all Global Commercial Card Products and reports into the Global Head of Commercial Cards Product Management. The incumbent will work closely with the regional Commercial Cards teams, Sales teams, Operations, Technology, Service and Client Connectivity as well our risk and compliance teams. 

The role holder’s responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute on key strategic initiatives and programmes that deliver Corporate Cards solutions to our customers globally
• Support the product strategy for Corporate Cards globally working closely with the Global Heads of Product Management and Global Head of Product Development for Commercial Cards.
• Data analysis and reporting of product performance, including definition and tracking of Key Performance Indicators of the GPS Commercial Cards business globally, measuring effectiveness and driving improvements to client experience and making data driven recommendations to continuously improve performance and growth.
• Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across Corporate Cards to ensure good operational and financial compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
• Manage product operating risk ensure appropriate risk oversight and mitigants are effective and sustainable.
• Support regulatory change which impacts the Corporate Card business.  This includes building an understanding of the regulatory climate, preparing for change, working closely with Legal, Risk and Compliance colleagues to provide appropriate input into consultations
• Drive a customer focussed environment built on globally consistent market leading propositions
• Monitor emerging trends in payments to understand how it might affect the ongoing success and evolution of Corporate Cards.
• Conduct competitor research and benchmarking of product capabilities

• Build and manage relationships with regional teams and key strategic partners to understand the opportunities, problems and drivers for change.

• Conduct regular governance meetings with key strategic partners to monitor and grow joint proposition performance and manage plans for partnership rollout and commercialisation initiatives globally.

• Lead efforts on the creation of assets to be used for client conversations.
• Support regional product teams with achieving committed growth targets

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams (such as GPS Sales, Client Connectivity, Client Service, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Technology) as well as key third parties such as Mastercard and Visa
• Ensure that the Product team is responsive to the requirements and expectations of stakeholders and promote awareness of Card products, propositions, strategies and initiatives

• Encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management.
• Work collaboratively within the global cards product management team to support and deliver on our joint product management, partnerships and commercialisation goals

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Proven experience working in product management
• Strong preference for experience in cards, preferably Commercial Cards
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.

• Proven experience of leading the delivery of initiatives, with effective outcome and performance tracking focus

• Experience in commercialisation and business management
• Excellent visualisation and presentation skills
• Must have experience of Business analyst activities / frameworks.
• Proven experience of working successfully in complex, matrixed organizations - leading through influence

This is a hybrid role where the base location will be London. There may be occasional travel required for meetings.

London office relocation: Between January and April 2027, many office-based HSBC employees in London will move from either 8 Canada Square or Queen Victoria Street to one of our new sites at St. Paul’s or Canary Wharf. Depending on when they join, successful candidates may start at an existing office before moving or join directly at a new location.
